Popular online magazine, Black Excellist, has named Beaufort SC in its Top Ten list of small towns for Black Americans to move to.
“Maybe you’re looking for a town that is progressive, diverse, and appreciative of all of its citizens. Or maybe you’re looking to relocate to where people are more community-minded.” BE said in its recent YouTube video. “We found 10 small American towns that may help you appreciate life’s small moments and craft a lifestyle that will bring you and your family happiness.”
Coming in at an impressive #4 on the list, Black Excellist had lots of really fantastic things to say about Beaufort SC.
“Beaufort is a charming coastal southern town that could be a great fit [for you]. Also known as the Queen of the Sea Islands, Beaufort is known for its tight community, small town charm and deep rooted history,” BE said.
After noting the great restaurants and amazing water views, in letting you know why Black Americans should move here, BE added, “perhaps the most interesting part of Beaufort’s narrative is the amazing preserved history of the Gullah culture; a culture unique to the Lowcountry.”
