The South Carolina League of Women Voters is hosting a special online event to be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 6 p.m.

“Maternal and Infant Health in SC: Birth Outcomes and the Need for Improved Healthcare”

The goals include raising awareness of the alarming birth outcome in SC and educating LWV SC Members, partner organizations and the public about the need for policies to improve maternal and infant health.  Improving healthcare for mothers and infants in South Carolina is a win for all South Carolinians, but we need a better understanding of the data and knowledge of innovative programs to tackle the worsening or crisis.

The webinar will (1) provide an historical perspective and a current snapshot of SC data concerning maternal and infant health including gaps in care, (2) focus on health disparities reflected in the data, and (3) provide talking points and facts to keep the conversation going across networks.
