SC Housing is pleased to announce that the SC Homeowner Rescue Program (SC HRP) is now accepting applications.
The program opened this morning at 9 am and will provide assistance to eligible homeowners as long as funds are available, through September 20, 2026.
Who is Eligible?
South Carolina residents who own a single-family home (attached or detached), a condominium, or a manufactured/mobile home in the state may be eligible. The property must also be occupied by the applicant and it must be their primary residence.
Eligible applicants must also attest that they have experienced a financial hardship associated with COVID-19 after January 21, 2020.
Additional eligibility requirements include:
· Your household income is equal to or less than 150% of your area median income (AMI) or 100% of the AMI of the United States ($79,900), whichever is greater. Visit our website for more information on income eligibility.
Co-borrowers are not permitted to separately apply for HAF Program assistance and no second homes or vacant properties are eligible.
SC HRP covers the following types of assistance:
· Mortgage Payments
· Mortgage Reinstatements
· Delinquent Property Taxes
· Delinquent Utilities
· Government or Nonprofit Down Payment Assistance Loans
